Preguntas indirectas con «if»

Cuando la pregunta directa se puede responder con si/no, la pregunta indirecta se construye con «if» o  «whether» («si» cuando hay dos opciones). Esta estructura no presenta muchas complicaciones porque es igual en español.

Por ejemplo:

Pregunta directa: Is she here? ¿Está ella aquí?
Pregunta indirecta: I’d like to know if/whether she is here. Me gustaría saber si ella trabaja aquí.

Pregunta directa: Does she work here? ¿Trabaja ella aquí?
Pregunta indirecta: Do you have any idea if she works here? ¿Tienes idea si ella trabaja aquí?

Pregunta directa: Can you check your email? ¿Puedes mirar tu correo?
Pregunta indirecta:  I was wondering if you could check your email? Me preguntaba si podrías mirar tu correo.
