1.    A: I´m really sorry I missed your birthday party last week. I promise I´ll make it up to you.

B: You always say you’ll make it up to me to me but you never do.

2.    A: I can never remember the meaning of ´sympathetic´ in English. I´m going to look it up now.

B: I never remember definitions either. I am always looking them up too.

3.    A: Sorry, I’m late. I went to pick up my laptop from the high street and the queue was a nightmare.

B: It takes ages to pick anything upfrom there. It’s always busy in the high street.

4.    A: I´ve decided I have to look after myself better by eating more fruit and going to the gym twice a week.

B: Looking afteryourself should be your top priority, especially as you want to stay mentally healthy in your new position.

5.    A: After the stress of organizing the international conference everything turned out really well.

B: Well, your preparation is always key. Has there ever been a time when it didn’t turned out really well?

6.    A: It was almost impossible to get on the bus this morning. It was so cramped and dangerous.

B: Couldn’t you get onat an earlier stop?
